




Here’s a recipe for a savory and hearty dish that combines the richness of canned tuna with the wholesome texture of chickpeas, enhanced with a blend of spices and herbs for a flavorful experience. Enjoy this simple, nutritious meal that’s perfect for a quick lunch or a light dinner.
- 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1 can tuna, drained
- 4 tsp tomato paste
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1 tsp ground paprika
- 2-3 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tsp dried basil
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg

- Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat 2 tbsp of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Cook the Chickpeas: Add the 1 can of drained and rinsed chickpeas to the skillet. Season with ¼ tsp of black pepper. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chickpeas are golden and slightly crisp.
- Add Tuna and Spices: To the skillet, add the drained can of tuna, 4 tsp of tomato paste, 1 tbsp of lime juice, ¼ tsp of garlic powder, ¼ tsp of ground nutmeg, and 1 tsp of ground paprika. Sprinkle 1 tsp of dried basil over the mixture.
- Mix and Cook: Stir everything together thoroughly. Continue to cook for another 4-5 minutes, stirring often, to ensure that the chickpeas and tuna fully absorb the flavors of the spices and tomato paste.
