Chocolate Chips Banana Cake | Easy Dessert Recipe

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate, chopped (or chocolate chips) (divided into 3/4 cup for the batter and 1/4 cup for topping)
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • In a pan or in the microwave, heat 1/2 cup butter until softened for easier beating.
  • In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter and 3/4 cup brown sugar.
  • Add the egg and mashed bananas to the bowl, mixing well.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup flour, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda, and 1/2 tsp salt.
  • Combine the dry mixture with the wet ingredients, mixing until just incorporated.
  • Gently fold in 3/4 cup of the chocolate pieces, reserving 1/4 cup for the topping.
  • Pour the batter into a lined pan and sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup chocolate chips on top.
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
