- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup all purpose flour

- 1 cup chocolate, chopped (or chocolate chips) (divided into 3/4 cup for the batter and 1/4 cup for topping)
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
- In a pan or in the microwave, heat 1/2 cup butter until softened for easier beating.
- In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter and 3/4 cup brown sugar.
- Add the egg and mashed bananas to the bowl, mixing well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup flour, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda, and 1/2 tsp salt.
